Huge first-half performance puts Classy Gents back into the race for the Off Campus Conference No. 1 top spot

Just three days after suffering their first loss of the season, the Classy Gents needed to prove why they deserved to be atop of the Off Campus Conference No. 1.   Tonight the Gents took on another top team, SigEps.  In a game that saw both teams having season goal totals of over 25 goals, offense would be key in this contest.

In the first period of action, SigEps would strike quickly taking an early 1-0 lead minutes into the game.  However, this was not going to be the case for the rest of the period as the Classy Gents would rack up 13 shots on goal and would score on five of them.  SigEps would look to redeem themselves towards the end of the period with a last-minute goal.  The score at halftime was 5-2 in favor of the Classy Gents.

The second period, much like the first was an offensive battle, with the Classy Gents winning.  SigEps would score right off the whistle to begin the second; however this is where the scoring ended for this team.  Classy Gents would go on to put the nail in the coffin by scoring two more goals to bring the final score 7-3.

Scoring two goals for SigEps was Charles Ciarkowski, while Paul Bork added one goal to his season totals.  For the Classy Gents goals were scored by Kevin Lohff, Brock Horton, Christopher Lytie and Michael Gebauer.  The number of shots on goal for SigEps totaled 14, while the Classy Gents tallied up 24.

With this game many players seemed to have what it takes to be considered the MVP of the game.  With two players on the Classy Gents notching up more than a single goal it was a very tough choice.  During an interview with the captain of the Classy Gents, he gave me some input on who he thought was the MVP of his team.  With two goals and an assist to his credit, I would like to officially name this game’s MVP to Brock Horton of the Classy Gents.
