Ridikilus wins ugly, but maintains perfection

This was one of the more exciting games to watch this whole Winter Carnival weekend. The team that wins this game would become the first seven-win team in all of broomball.

Well, if you would have watched only the first half of the game you would have thought that Sum It Up would have had the win locked up. Sum It Up jumped out to a fast 3-0 lead, scoring the first three goals of the season on the vaunted Ridikilus defense and goalie, but that didn’t discourage Ridikilus who stuck to their game plan and kept the wheels spinning.

Some of the explanation for the goals scored could have been the fact that Ridikilus was playing without subs, including the goalie that had been so good this year. Well against those odds Ridikilus wasn’t to be kept off the board in the first half, with captain Mike Engeseth putting in two before the half was over making the score 3-2 at half.

In the second half, Ridikilus, who hadn’t seen a losing score on their scoreboard all season, decided that they didn’t like the look and were able to score the two goals that they needed to take the lead for the first time in the game. It wasn’t the easiest or prettiest win that they have put up but a win none the less.

The final goal tallies for Ridikilus were Mike Engeseth with three and Andrew Lacombe with one. Scoring goals for Sum It Up were Jake Gefroh with two and Shane Clifford with one.
