The Baby Sheep have made an impressive run this postseason, but they are not nearly as prolific in scoring as the more experienced Pirate Sheep, despite sharing several players. Tonight, Incognito gave everything they had in an attempt to take down the Baby Sheep in third-round action, but it was to no avail, as Baby Sheep came away with a 2-1overtime victory, joining Pirate Sheep in the round of 8.
It was a hard-fought game throughout, but Tyler Reno was the difference, as he frequently is. He scored both Baby Sheep goals in the victory, while Brandon Langerude scored the only goal for Incognito.
The Baby Sheep are now one step closer to potentially having an all-“Sheep” championship game, or at the very least, a victory by both would put both “Sheep” teams in the final four. Baby Sheep will surely face its toughest test on Thursday night against a powerful JAX team.

The thing that im disappointed with about this article, is that there really is nothing about the game itself that couldnt be found by just looking at the actual broomball website and seeing the score was 2-1, which is why people come read articles here at the lode instead of the “broomball daily”, which for the most part is kind of a joke.
Nothing about a back and forth game, nothing about having to kill off a 5 minute penalty with 6 minutes left in regulation in a 1-1 game, not even anything about how this was the east wads championship game. To most players, its definitely more than just a “third round” game, especially to players who have never won a championship game of any sort.
As far as the “all sheep” championship, why are people excited to have that happen? Would anyone really want to see a championship game where one team was missing 2 of their offensive weapons?
I’m going to have to agree with popcorn on this one. So far the lode has covered 3 of our games (Incognito) and so far they have not included any information that couldn’t be pulled off the broomball website, such as goals for, goals against, saves, etc. This article was particularly disappointing as there was actually a lot to write about. In addition to Baby Sheep’s strong 5 minute penalty kill (good goaltending helped here) where Reno was benched, Mark Devich and Jordan Carlson took their first penalties of the season, with Jordan’s coming 30 seconds before the end of the second period.
All in all it would have been a great game to watch and it was definitely a great game to play in. Congrats to Baby Sheep for their hard fought win. That having been said, I hope someone beats you before finals, because pirate sheep vs lamb chops won’t be an exciting way to end the season.
I definitely agree with you on that one Drew. This article makes it seem like it was just another nonchalant game for you and Ty but it was way more than that. Those five minutes alone in that game were some of the most exciting parts in that game. 90% if these lode articles capture nothing of the actual games’ experiences but merely the score and who scored them, which I can easily discover on the Broomball webpage. Not a single article on here shows that any of the games last night were really championship games for a hall.
As for an all sheep game for the championship, it would probably be the most boring championship game in the history for the cup. I want to see a team give The Pirate Sheep a run for their money!
Hey guys, thanks for your input. I do appreciate that you guys are actually taking the time to read our articles. In fact I would really like to thank you for taking the time to read my article on Team ver 5.0 vs Brick House. I guess I didnt make it clear enough in the last sentence of my first paragraph that this was for the Women’s Championship.
Thanks again,
Mike
That’s a fair assessment of this particular article. It was subpar at best, and for such an outstanding game. Thanks for all the feedback. With fewer games to focus on the rest of the way, we, like the players, will be that much more focused on improving, finding the intricacies that set each game apart, and digging deeper than what’s on the scoreboard.
Well Mike, 1 out of 5 ain’t bad…keep up the good work!
