Hockey Huskies drop pair to Mavericks

On Friday night, the Huskies spotted the Mavericks five goals, including three in the first period before they could find the net en route to a 5-2 loss. Robinson replaced Genoe after the third goal was scored.

Senior Drew Dobson picked up his first goal of the season 9:22 into the second period. Sophomore Ricky Doriott and Robinson picked up assists on the goal.

At 15:58, the Huskies struck again as Olson notched a tally. Gwilliam and Seigo assisted on the goal.

On Saturday, the Huskies again spotted the Mavericks a three-goal lead before getting on the board themselves. Their comeback attempt was thwarted after losing a faceoff in the offensive zone with four seconds to go.

Freshman Anthony Schooley scored on a breakaway 16:26 into the third period to finally get the Huskies on the board.

With Robinson pulled, Dobson netted his second of the weekend with just 15 seconds to go. Freshman Aaron Pietila and Olson assisted on the goal.
