While the hockey Huskies aren’t exactly tearing up the WCHA, or even battling for a home playoff spot, the Huskies (5-17-2 overall, 1-13-2 WCHA) may have turned a major corner, going 3-4-1 over the past month. Playing with senior forwards Ryan Angelow and Derek Kitti and junior defenseman Drew Dobson, the hockey Huskies played with a relatively young roster, and at times it showed during Saturday night’s, 3-1, loss to the Toronto Varsity Blues. Despite the score, the Huskies outplayed the Blues in nearly every facet of the game, outshooting the Blues 41-16, but couldn’t find the net with any consistency until the 16:42 mark of the third period.
