While the hockey Huskies aren’t exactly tearing up the WCHA, or even battling for a home playoff spot, the Huskies (5-17-2 overall, 1-13-2 WCHA) may have turned a major corner, going 3-4-1 over the past month. After a pair of drubbings from the No. 7 Denver Pioneers in which they were outscored 12-1 on home ice, the Huskies have recovered and lost both games to the No. 5 Pioneers by a combined three goals last weekend.

The hockey Huskies scored two power play goals en route to a 4-2 win over the Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves (5-2-1 overall, 2-1-1 WCHA) Friday night, earning their first WCHA win of the young season. The Seawolves paraded to the penalty box early and often, giving the Huskies multiple opportunities to seal their first home victory of the season.
