O, You Betcha entered tonight’s contest looking to prove that even though their entire team consist of freshmen that they had just a good as shot at the title as anyone else. During the regular season O, You Betcha notched 42 goals while only allowing 18. On the other end of the ice they would be playing a very respectable Sea Monsters team who season totals was 54 G and 15 GA. With teams that were so close entering tonight’s contest both teams would need to bring their “A-Game” if they wanted to move on to the next round.

As with most of the games this time of year, this was another one with huge playoff implications on the line. Hailing from East Wads Conference No. 3, The Flying Penguins came into the game at 5-0 and the Sea Monsters coming in at 4-1. Both teams were looking to claim a spot at the top of the division to help solidify their hopes for entering the playoffs.

The battle for second place in East Wads Conference No. 3 heated up even more after Saturday’s game between the Headless Hitmen and Sea Monsters. Prior to this game both of these two teams were the scoring leaders of the conference, with the Headless Hitmen registering 36 goals and the Sea Monsters totaling 39. Both of these teams were given honorable mention for this week’s top 20 power rankings.
